Vijay Singh captured the PGA Tour FedEx cup trophy on Sunday afternoon with a finishing round 70 at East Lake, 9 over par for the tournament. Singh had won the first two playoff events of the FedEx cup, putting him so far in front of the field, that he would automatically win the cup, barring a withdrawl or disqualification at East Lake.
Singh gets $9 million in cash. The other $1 million is deferred compensation.

With all of the Ryder Cup hooplah, I almost forgot about our favorite underachiever. Michelle Wie finished the final round of an LPGA sectional qualifying tournament this past Friday in the desert, shooting a steady 1-under 71 to tie for fourth.
