Michelle Wie Gets Her LPGA Tour Card….Finally!

2009 might turn out to be Michelle’s year. She finished the final Q-School with a round of two-over-par 74 for a five-day total of 12-under 348 and a share of seventh place, good enough to earn her tour card.  With any luck this will turn Wie’s golf career onto the right track after years of missed cuts, disqualifications and disappointments.  To see a play by play of Wie’s final Q School round visit LPGA.com.

It’s hard to feel jubilant that this young lady is the highest paid woman golfer in the world, and one of the highest paid athletes in the world for that matter, even though she has done almost nothing in the past couple of years. It will be nice to see her earn something for a change.

Hopefully she won’t make another travesty out of playing in more men’s events where she creates a big media circus and comes in last.

Saw Wei in a tounament two weeks ago that she had a chance to win but did not. The announcer made mention that should she win it would be great for womens golf.
What did she mean by this?
