Could we please get Tiger back on the course sometime soon..that way the caddies will take a step out of the spotlight for a minute. John Daly smashed a spectator’s camera into a tree while shooting a 6-over 78 in the first round of the Australian Open on Thursday, making it likely he will miss the cut for the third consecutive week Down Under.
After pushing his tee shot wide on the ninth hole – his last – Daly walked into a clump of trees, where spectator Brad Clegg tried to take a picture at close range.

Corey Pavin was introduced as the next U.S. captain for the Ryder Cup on today, selected to lead a team in 2010 that will try to successfully defend the cup for the first time since 1993.  He replaces Paul Azinger who rallied his team this past September with a 16 1/2 -11 1/2 victory at Valhalla.
A former U.S. Open champion with 15 victories on the PGA Tour, Pavin played in three Ryder Cups and had an 8-5-0 record.

2009 might turn out to be Michelle’s year. She finished the final Q-School with a round of two-over-par 74 for a five-day total of 12-under 348 and a share of seventh place, good enough to earn her tour card.  With any luck this will turn Wie’s golf career onto the right track after years of missed cuts, disqualifications and disappointments.  To see a play by play of Wie’s final Q School round visit LPGA.com.
