Breaking News…Tiger Woods has announced he will return to competition next week at the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship.  This is great news for TW and the game.  We’ll keep you updated as the event nears.

Okay, it’s time to give away some golf balls, and not just any golf balls, but the new, controversial, 2009 Titleist Pro V1′s. Callaway Golf tried to put the kibosh on everyone’s favorite $50 a dozen golfing orb, but apparently everything was worked out because the new Pro V1 & Pro V1x are on shelves now. I haven’t even had a change to try these puppies out, but one lucky Tour Golf Blog reader will walk away with a dozen. I’ll even let you choose the if you want the regular or X.

Unfortunately, poor weather suspended play at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on Sunday, postponing the final round until Monday morning at 7:30.  Lucky for Dustin Johnson, who went into Monday with a 4 shot lead, weather continued to deterioriate and his lead held as the final round was canceled.   Not much fun for golf fans, but a nice win for Dustin. Here’s the final leaderboard.

Ok, I understand that everyone has their own style, but c’mon.  There are just some things that weren’t meant for the golfing world.  Charles Barkley, John Daly shirtless & Charley Hoffman’s mullet, to name just a few.  Maybe I’m wrong here.  Is the mullet a look that golfers need to embrace, or does someone need to sneak up behind him with some clippers and zip that thing right off his neck?

Man I hate to hear about news like this, but if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime I guess.  Champions Tour golfer, Thorpe is being charged with failing to pay over 1.6 million dollars in taxes for money earned in 2002 2003, & 2004.  His attorney says he’s planning on pleading not guilty, but we know the IRS.  They usually get what’s coming to them.  I wish Jim good luck and I hope he can get this figured out without having to do any time in the …
