Unfortunately, most amateur golfers use the same “swing hard every time” swing when they pull out the driver and rarely do they have the mindset of backing off the power meter a notch, sacrificing a few yards or two in order to keep the ball in play. This is a huge mistake and will cost you strokes..guaranteed. You need to develop a “go to” driver swing that will stand up under pressure and keep you in the fairway….

John Daly was recently spotted wearing some “classic” 1970′s golf attire at the Open de Espana at the PGA Golf Catalunya in Girona, Spain. Apparently Daly didn’t feel he was receiving the attention he duly deserved, so he borrowed Al Czervik’s pants, and hit the links in Wednesday’s Pro-Am.

You’ve probably been hearing about the wild fires that swept through parts of North Myrtle Beach starting this past Wednesday. Good news however, the fires have been contained to a small area just west of the Intercoastal Waterway in North Myrtle, and while a few courses such as Waterway Hills, Barefoot & Grande Dunes were threatened, only Grande Dunes suffered some minor cosmetic damage and all are open for regular play. I was on Twitter yesterday and ran into a fellow Twitterer by the name of Golf Sigma. We got to chatting and I checked out their website and I have to say I was extremely impressed. For those of you who haven’t been to the site, GolfSigma.com is the most comprehensive golf tee time search engine available. They have the most extensive inventory and search capabilities of any site I’ve tried, and I’ve used quite a few to book tee times over the years.
