Masters 2009 Thoughts

I absolutely love the Masters & I look forward to this tournament all year long.  It’s safe to say that I’ll be rooting for a Tiger win, but more importantly, I am keeping my fingers crossed that Mickelson can keep his act together and maybe, just maybe we’ll get a Tiger / Phil battle on Sunday.  That would make for some great drama considering the relationship between those guys.

I’m also excited to see the Shark back in action at the Masters.  Not that he has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning this thing, it would be great to see Norman redeem himself for years past, and at least keep him self in contention going into the weekend.  We all saw it at Royal Birkdale in 08.  The guy is in great shape, and has been playing on a regular basis, so who knows?

How about the young guns.  Camilo Villegas, Anthony Kim, and recent winner Paul Casey have been playing some great golf, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see one or all of the kids high on the leaderboard come the weekend.

Augusta National is such a special place, I would be happy to sit and watch 4 old duffers hit the ball around that track.  It’s the perfect sporting venue, with a honored history.  Not a blade of grass out of place, azaleas in full bloom, how could it get any better.  Playing Augusta one time is possibly number 1 on my bucket list.

If you can’t call in sick, and want to check out the action from your desk, Masters.com will have, live streaming video of Amen corner + 15 & 16 as well as the full leaderboard.

  1. I am hoping that Anthony Kim makes a run and we see a dual between him and Tiger. Would be nice to see the old guard make a stand against the up and comers.
