Save yourself the frustration......read the previous posts,Callaway has had problems with this unit since it was fist put on the market.
If my experience is anything to go by you will probably get the same runaround.

Return your UPRO for credit, there are other more reliable units for sale

Customer service is atrocious, anti-virus software has screwed the syncing files on the GPS. I would be grateful is someone could forward a copy so I can resolve the issue.

Purchased a UPRO at Golftown,no problem downloading and connecting but info on my home course was out by 25/30 yards plus and/or minus.
absolutely no satisfaction from their tech people and no responses to my lasy e-mail to both Canada and their U.S. offices. Other club members had the same problem with the UPRO GO. I returned the unit to Golf Town and bought a GOLF BUDDY,works like a charm right out of the box, thousands of courses available worldwide and no annual fees or new course download fees. They should stick to golf clubs or or else improve the support for the Upro

Received my upro 2 days ago.
Prob. #1 -Initial problem was charging. The wall charger green light turned on, but charge light would not turn on - on the upro. Attempted removing and replacing battery several times, but ended up having to charge through the computer USB port.

Prob. #2 - Had difficulty getting "connected" to the computer. I used 2 different computers (xp and vista), but either would not connect, or would disconnect. Never could sync.

Support action for #1 - Sending a new battery

Support action for #2 - after several hours of my efforts, called support - it worked while I had them on the phone, but after we hung up, the system would hand on trying to "synchronize".

Actual Fix - I have a Panasonic video camera that also uses the mini usb type cable. I decided it was worth a try. When I connected the cable, both the charging, connecting and synchronizing problems were cured.

Good luck.

The product is just OK at very best, the support is the WORST! My home courses are listed BUT.... they redid them 3 years ago and Upro now has both courses mapped wrong, still the old layout. So I have now sent them 3 emails over 3 months and guess what? correctamundo...NOTHING. A stupid email that says thanks for contacting us a person in customer service will review it. Not to mention if you are playing a tight golf course forget it! this thing is crappola as it switches to the next hole and you can go back or you turn it to manual so you spend your day playing with it instead of golfing. Anyway for around 300 bucks, no way. Plus due to the terrible customer service I will never buy another callaway product again. And.....other brands have the courses in them! DUH! this is just a pain in the butt. I go on vacation and decide to play a course uh oh! didnt think way ahead to spend a half hour downloading it so no gps. Callaway need to go away with this thing.

Golf GPS systems can be expensive ranging from $299 – $500. Today there is a service at GolfGPSRental.com the “NetFlix for golf GPS.” You can rent GolfLogix, OnPar & SkyCaddie models. Select the model you want to try, sign up for a rental period ranging from 3 to 30 days, receive the unit via UPS, and go play. When you’re ready to return, re-box the golf GPS and use the included pre-printed label, and send it back. Simple. A Try before you buy type program.

Most people do not realize how much their golf game can improve with the technology of a GPS system or rangefinder that can allow you to know the exact yardage to the pin. This will not only allow you to not have to guess, but it can be a big confidence boost after you hit the same yardage over and over and figure out the right swing and club for the shot. You can literally cut your handicap in half with the help of a GPS or rangefinder.

You can definitely have more than 50 courses and load only the ones you wan to carry. I expect that you could even have two separate memory cards with different courses on each. I have both the basic and pro mode for many courses and will switch back and forth as needed. Its very easy to add and subtract courses from the unit using the provided software.
