Golf GPS systems can be expensive ranging from $299 – $500. Today there is a service at GolfGPSRental.com the “NetFlix for golf GPS.” You can rent GolfLogix, OnPar & SkyCaddie models. Select the model you want to try, sign up for a rental period ranging from 3 to 30 days, receive the unit via UPS, and go play. When you’re ready to return, re-box the golf GPS and use the included pre-printed label, and send it back. Simple. A Try before you buy type program.

Most people do not realize how much their golf game can improve with the technology of a GPS system or rangefinder that can allow you to know the exact yardage to the pin. This will not only allow you to not have to guess, but it can be a big confidence boost after you hit the same yardage over and over and figure out the right swing and club for the shot. You can literally cut your handicap in half with the help of a GPS or rangefinder.

You can definitely have more than 50 courses and load only the ones you wan to carry. I expect that you could even have two separate memory cards with different courses on each. I have both the basic and pro mode for many courses and will switch back and forth as needed. Its very easy to add and subtract courses from the unit using the provided software.

Folks, getting close to buying a GPS unit. Down to the Sonocaddie V300 or the uPro. I like the uPro flyover and Mc compatibility. One question: Once I hit the 50 course limit on the unit and want to purchase another course, do I lose one of my courses? Or can I keep them on my computer and load the ones I want when I want them?

I too had some issues connecting my uPro to my Mac. Now that I finally got it working I love it! Every course I've played so far (about 20) the yardages have been very accurate.

Chris,
I don't get a red uPro icon in the finder. The SD card in my uPro shows up in the finder with the white generic removable disc icon that I would get with any flash drive or memory card. They may have updated the card format since I got my uPro so don't take my experience as what you should get. If you click once on the icon you are looking at and choose "get info" or type command - I it will tell you the type of item yo are looking at (file/folder/application/disk).
