Play Celtic Manor with World Golf Tour

Play Ryder Cup Celtic ManorI just wanted to let all you golf fanatics know that World Golf Tour, Celtic Manor, and the upcoming Ryder Cup have teamed up to offer you guys the chance to experience the Twenty Ten Course for yourselves before the actual tournament starts in October.

Earlier this year, World Golf Tour (WGT) headed to Celtic Manor in Wales to capture the course in HD (shooting from a helicopter) and bring it to life online using WGT’s patented photorealistic technology. They are debuting the nine most interesting and challenging holes on the course in a virtual Ryder Cup tournament:

The great thing is that you can play the exact holes that the teams will be playing.  Ok, you don’t actually get to go to Whales, but you’ll think you are because the WGT team has outdone themselves with this Virtual Ryder Cup.

You can play it here absolutely FREE

I think the technology is absolutely amazing. I hope Tiger Woods on the Wii will incorporate this someday. That screenshot looks amazing. Could you imagine this technology used on Pebble Beach?

WGT had several holes mapped out at Pebble back when the U.S. Open was happening. I’m not sure if they’re still available to play if you’re a registered member. Might be worth a look.

Thanks. I was talking from strictly a TW point of view. My friends and I go nuts on the Wii…
