Big Break Disney & Andrew Giuliani
For those of you who are following the latest season of the Golf Channel's Big Break, you'll by now have heard of the aspiring PGA Tour player Andrew Giuliani, son of Rudy Giuliani. You'll also probably have realized that the guy has the gift of gab, and it seems to be rubbing some of his competitors the wrong way (and we're only 3 shows deep).
I've been trying not to get caught up in the "Anti-Andrew" fever that seems to be spreading on the show, but I have to admit that it's getting contagious. While the tensions begin to flare on the show, I got to thinking if everyone's just picking on little Andrew. Or maybe they're just jealous of his last name. Either way, it's making for some great T.V. What do you think. Is Andrew Giuliani just plain annoying, or is he getting picked on by the other guys?
I am tired of the pack mentality against Andrew, especially from Mike and Blake. Sure Andrew is a talker, but these other guys are pouters and winers. What has Perez done except be someone’s brother?
Andrew was not my favorite, but he has hung in there. He takes what they give him and then goes out and hits that shot from the bunker over the trees and wins. Perez pouts.
Words of advice to all. Man up guys. Quit complaining and play some shots. To Andrew…..HAve fun MAN!

I agree. It’s not like the guy hasn’t been hitting some quality shots, and he’s yet to go to an elimination challenge. I hate to say it, but I was really rooting against Perez last night in the last challenge. I was hoping either him or his little buddy Blake were going to take the walk of shame.
These guy’s who are ripping on Andrew are jerks. I find Andrew the only engaging guy of the bunch of them. He is making the others look like buffoons. Andrew can talk with both his mouth and his clubs.
I think i agree with both sides of this.
Since the first episode of this season I have hated Andrew for his mouth. He just seems like the kinda guy that I would have the urge to punch in the face if a met him.
But, like yall have said, he takes it all in stride and is still making the shots when it counts.
He may be annoying, but he’s also a pretty damn good golfer.
I agree that Andrew is a bit annoying, but the guy can golf. He also knows he’s the odd man out yet maintains his composure and stays cordial with the other players. I have to laugh every time I see his lip curl up on one side. The other players who seem to be ganging up on Andrew are beginning to appear like jerks. Especially, Mike and Blake. What’s up with Blake? I have yet to be impressed with his game. I hope Big Break has some serious security close at hand, because it appears this guy is one bad shot away from going off the deep end!
I have just witnessed one of the worst displays of sportsmanship… with giving Andrew the extra letters in BREAK. So much that I am really not so excited about Big Break and the production.
This is really sad. Again the pack mentality failed. I underestimated just how big of whimps Blake and Mike are. Now, the rest are gaining in whimp status. And old orange pants, Andrew saved your bacon. At least you should have his back.

Blake is total jerk. The guy can’t muster to fake having some sportsmanship on national TV? Andrew is a jabber, but he’s never said anything rude or done anything offensive to anyone. He’s been a nice guys with a lot of game the entire time. Blake appears to be a random hack who thinks he’s a lot better than he is. Few players, outside Tiger, have enough game to be pissed after every bad shot. Golf’s a game of misses. Grow up Blake.
Blake is just a wimpy punk who does not have the game to beat Andrew fairly. He whines like a little girl. The Big Break needs some stronger screening to weed out no talent hacks like Blake. I would play Blake head up for $10,000.00 on any course of his choosing and whip him like a red headed stepchild.

blake is just a pain in the ass, first of all, he has no game at all, my 10 year old daughter could whip him with her giving strokes, alll he does is ccry and slam clubs, he has no rite being on the show, he has no talent at all, what he is doing is teaching kids a bad lesson about the game, make a bad shot slam your club and swear, and its not like it is seldom, every shot he makes is terrible, this game is alot more about class and enjoyment than just skill, it was made very clear to me t a young age that if you throw clubs you have no rite being on the golf course and blake you more than anyone i have ever seen have absolutely no business playing this game, your a little spoiled child who cant understand that you suck t golf
Are you all watching the same show as I am? Andrew is a pompous jerk who only rivals his own father. He is a terrible sportman and lacks any professionalism. He has no respect for his playing partners or the sport. I’m not denying that he has talent. Buy I would never want to play a round with such a loud mouth. Not a shocker that they all hate him. Unfortunately his jerk personality ruffels the feathers of his partners and makes their blood boil. I he wins, there goes the sport. God forbid he ever gets on the PGA tour. Even Rory Sabbatini is less of a dick than he is and at least he’s a quiet guy on the course.
OMG!!!!! The worst thing Andrew has done is congratulate a couple of other guys at what Perez and Blake thought were bad times. Those two need their own little whiner show. How about a little cheese with that whine Blake. And Blake, you are a hack 12 handicapper. So far you have been extremely lucky to have survived. Others have done your bidding to try to get Andrew off the show. Just shut your pie hole punk.
You can say anything that you want about Blake, and I am good with that. But, leave us 12+ handicappers out of it! We have our pride!!!
I am disappointed in the the Big Break Disney. I usually love this show, but this one is a disgrace. The players and this show are boring and petty. It is also a complete shame that the Golf Channel promotes this behavior. Golf is a gentleman’s sport. There are no refs sitting over you, it is a game of integrity and sportsmanship. The behavior of Blake, Perez and those idiotic brothers are a perfect example of the problems that are creeping into our sport. They should have never have passed the screening and once their behavior started, they should have been warned or kicked off. My family watchs Big Break together and I have to explain to sons 9 and 15 that the behavior of these punks is not acceptable on a golf course. I was never a fan of Guilianni but after watching him, I am now in his corner. He is displaying maturity and has been the only sportsman on the show. I agree he doesn’t know when to shut up, but he has been the only one to show any game.
i agree with tom, whats wrong with us 12 cappers, i have worked hard to keep that 12, i am no andrew fan, actually at first i couldnt stand him, but i have to say he has done nothing wrong, if you let him get in your kitchen then you dont have the mentality to play this game, he knows what he is doing and it looks like it is working, blake needs to take up bowling, more his speed.
What’s with Blake and his trained monkey Mike? Why are they allowed on the show? I,m so sick of their behaviour that i was almost going to change the channel, but i still love the show. When are you guys going to tell them to grow up ?
I have to admit, I recorded Tuedsay’s episode, and finally got around to watching it last night. I’ve never rooted so hard for someone to take the walk (Blake). And what’s with the brothers, who seem like generally nice guys, jumping on the “Eliminate Andrew” bandwagon.
I won’t even get into Blake’s blatant disregard for anything resembling golf etiquette. Slamming clubs, throwing gear. Nevermind the fact that the guy hasn’t hit more than 2 quality shots the entire show. C’mon Golf Channel, is this all you got?
Mike is the type of person who cant think for himself so he needs to latch on to someone, poor kid, must be hard living in your brothers shadow all these years, GC, you have really picked some bad players this year, blake and mike are just terrible and talentless, at least in the past there was allways a hottie in a nice tight skirt to watch, now you have blake and mike, something tells me they are a bit more than just friends!!!!!!!!!
It had to make Pat Perez want to crawl under a rock Tuesday when his idiot Blake-toadie brother couldn’t find his butt with both hands and a flashlight. It must be dark up Blake’s butt so Mike actually needs the flashlight. Those two need to go.

I’ve watched all the Big Breaks and have enjoyed them thoroughly, even when somebody gets under another contestant’s skin. But Disney BB isn’t about golf anymore. It’s broken down to a personality thing where the contestants are more concerned about who’s eliminated than who’s playing good golf – everyone except Andrew. While he does talk a bunch, he’s polite and not mean spirited like the rest of those twits. My vote is get rid of Blake who’s a cry baby and will never ascend to anything meaningful in golf as long as he can’t control his emotions. It comes out like he’s angry with Andrew, but if he were hitting quality shots, he wouldn’t care a bit what Andrew is saying. He’s angry at his own poor golf – it’s that simple.

Who cares if he likes to talk? I agree with others – it’s better than the other guys who pout and moan when they make a bad shot. Andrew is always upbeat and takes their bashing with a smile (which is “the best revenge”). He’s a good golfer and deserves to be there for his talent…just like anyone else.
All I know is Blake is the biggest d-bag EVER to be on the show. He’s got a man crush on Perez, what a joke! Nothing will please me more than when Andrew sends him packing. And those other guys (not Kevin) and their lil’ click need to go, they are a disgrace to the show, what a bunch of wanabee jock punks. They will never make it on any tour with their attitudes. I guess it makes for good TV, but these are some of the most profoundly unlikeable Big Breakers EVER! (even worse than Matt Avery or whatever his name was) Come on Kevin, you can do it!!! When I first saw that Andrew Giuliani was on the show I thought “Yikes – has it come to this?” But I now find myself cheering for the guy. He has handle himself well. The others need a lesson in true meaning of golf sportsmanship.

I’m to the point where I only watch the show to see Andrew play well against the others. I mean what was Tony thinking when he picked Andrew to play against. If he were playing the game instead of being a jerk like the rest of them, he would have chosen the player he had the best chance of beating. This is about winning not revenge. As for the final, I now would love to see Andrew and Kevin play in the final just so those other sissy’s could cry on each others shoulders.

Just saw last week’s BB, and it was very nice to see Blake GO!!! The DVR stopped before his little monologue, but I am certain it was:
1. Classless
2. Whinny
3. Unprofessional
4. Condescending towards his other competitors who beat the c**p out of him in every way.
I have seen this type of behavior previously, and unfortunately, until Blake has to actually work for a living he will never amount to much. He covers his lack of talent and ability by lashing out on others. He probably was attracted to golf because he was pounded by his teammates in every other sport he attempted.
Find another ‘profession’ because you will always be a spoiled whiner no talent hack.
Andrew is no better, but he can at least play.
Andrew beat them and he is in their head! They now mumble between themselves instead of speaking up.
How great would it be if the brothers were teamed together so one had to beat the other?

The Golf Channel has lost this particular family of viewers. For production to essentially condone the type of behavior on display this season is not only ridiculous but its insulting to the World of Golf. tony and gipper are little brothers who need to hold each others hand to get through life Andrew has got inside there heads and on both the last two shows has handed them there heads , the show is about how well you can plat golf not who you hate , on the show they all ganged up on him Andrew showed a lot of maturity and played his way out of a position that I thought was manufactured, all power to him I think that he will be in the final, if either tony or gipper get knocked out then the other will be straight after , neither of them have grasped the concept that you play golf against the course not against other people the lowest score wins

I feel like we got cheated this season, because we lost most of the guys that probably would have been fun to watch, within the first few shows. Now we’re stuck with all these primadonnas, except Andrew and Kevin as you said Jake.
At the start of this season I thought that Andrew was going to be the guy I loved to hate. But as the show as moved forward, I’ve actually started pulling for him, if for no other reason than to keep shuting up the whiners on the show. I’d hate to have to play in a group behind Blake, Mike, Gipper and Tony, the greens must be a mess after their tantrums. Although launching a few balls into them might be fun.

Perez has to go. He can go caddy for his hot headed brother. I remember when he gagged bigtime at the ATT at Pebble Beach and broke a club or came close to doing so. He has chilled a bit but there must have been some serious wacko issues in that home. The Island brothers think they are IT. They are indeed if preceded by SH. Kevin is lucky but he had a babe of a wife on the Big Break before so I cut him some slack. Dripper and his brother cannot stand Andrew surviving.
It appears everyone has already pointed out the douchery going on with some of these guys. The ultimate punk move was Blake slamming his ball off the green with the putter. I hope the golf course fined him for that little move.

Little Andrew is the despised rich spoiled rotten kid. He comes across very egotistical and very arrogant. At no point during the Big Break show did I ever want to root for this loud mouth. The consensus seems the same. That Blake especially is acting like a jerk and because he is so aggressive about it that he is creating the politics (sometimes called office politics) to get everyone to gang up on Andrew. They seem to think he is saying things to get under their skin and get an edge on them in the competition. Boy are they wimps, wait till they get out on the tour and have to deal with real pressure of making a living at golf. I noticed that one of the more talented guys, Vincent would listen to there stuff but was not drawn into the politics. Good for him and shame on the Big Break for allwong this type of behavior and even promoting it. By the way to all of Big Break wimps who don’t like Andrew’s chatter, my favotite golfer is Lee Trevino who never stops talking. Some people like to talk more than others, get over it.

Wow! Over 50 comments and 2 against Andrew. Jon (Nov 19) and Monterey Surf Golf (Dec 1) belong with Blake. I too am disappointed in Big Break allowing such poor sportsmanship. How did Blake make it through the screening? Now that Andrew is gone I’m done with the show. Jon and Monterey, you two must have been watching a different Andrew. Yes the guy can gab but other than that he turned the other cheek and allowed his game to do the talking. It sounds like some people just have a problem with the name Giuliani. You two are unbelievable.

I cannot believe the mouth and the attitude on that complete loser Gipper/Gimpy whatever. The kid has zero class and zero game. He did not win the elimination, Andrew lost. The shot must have hit something to take such a bounce. Gimpy just would not shut up. As much as they talked about Andrew yapping, this guy was 10x worse.
I have watched all the Big Breaks and for the most part have enjoyed the show. And all the past winners, whether you liked them or not, you could completely understand how and why they won. This group should have been cast for Biggest Losers. I have never seen such a bunch of whinny, self-center, mediocre losers. If they did a cast vs cast, this bunch would have been eliminated the first week.
The Golf Channel owes its viewers a big apology.

Have any of these guys ever been to final stage of Q school? They don’t know pressure. They practically soil their nickers when they have to make a putt or beat another guy over a few holes. Why aren’t they happy and excited to be playing for one of the best jobs in the world? Why doesn’t the Golf Channel come up with more real competition between players and not walls or panes of glass?
The hacks that are left cannot even make a cut on the tour. This is actually a wasted spot for more deserving players.

It would have been really fun to see the brothers play each other in the elimination. Since they obviously can’t do anything without each other, having one send the other walking would have been great.
I love reading these comments on how all these guys are talentless. I will give you all Blake. That cannot be denied. Mike and Tony have played in professional events. That should say quite a bit. After all, not anyone can just play in a pro event. I feel Kevin has some talent, but definitely not enough to perform well in the tour event provided he would win Big Break. Andrew, while he did have a solid game, I could not stand to watch him. Not just because he talked so much, but because he showed no emotion on the course (maybe because he suffered the consequences of showing too much emotion, like Blake, while he was at Duke). While Blake showed his emotions way too much and took it too far, showing no emotion and acting like a robot on the course provides no excitement. Big Break really needs to make major changes.
I re-recorded the episode in which Guillani lost.
On the final hole before the playoff hole, he hit a 6 iron
a bit too hard and the ball hit the green and rolled off.
In the camera shots of him as he was preparing to putt
( from the fringe by 2 inches) he picked up his ball (off the
green) ball with his hand and improved his lie as he sat it back
down, an unmistakeable oblivious infraction of golf rules.
This event is clearly evident via the filming done.
Nobody called a foul and and any altered rules were not
discussed. Really Amazing !!!!

Since Andrew has left I quit watching the show. I have never seen such poor sports as the rest of those contestants. Kevin is the only other one that was okay. The rest are poor sports and spoiled “brats” for lack of a better term. I can’t imagine those guys on the tour with their petty attitudes and poor sportsmanship. Very disapointing bunch of young men.

I heard the term camra angel the other day when refering to famous PGA Pros who when on camra are angels but are really jerks. This may be why golf chanel thinks they should allow the same behavier on this stupid show. When there really the jerks.
Hate to see Mike win this thing. He did make a good come back, but his sportsmanship is lousy. I can see him in the PGA sticking a club in the ground after a bad shot. Sorry to see this guy win. No class at all.
I agree, hated the final, I didn’t route for either one, and with mike tying to impress his but buddy Blake by slamming his club into the ground, absolutely no CLASS, he played well at the end I will give him that, but with the temper on these guys is unbelievable, and they have zero respect for the game and especially the course, I could never imagine destroying a golf course like these guys have, if I was the greens keeper I would personally send him a letter to grow up and get your ass down here and spend a few days working the course, I don’t know if that is mikes normal behavior or not on the course, like I said before I think it was all a show for his boyfriend, who by the way stood there watching the match and looked like he was about to cry, he hated the fact that Kevin was playing and not him, man it was all over his little puss face, face the facts Blake, Kevin is better than you, he deserved to be there and you did not, you completely suck at golf and with your attitude and that bald dome of yours you couldn’t sell tiger a porn star so start applying at McDonalds and get ready for a long career in the fast food business, glad this series is over and I hope the golf channel will have some good JUNIOR talent next time, until next series, later boys!!!!!!!!!!
oh and one more thing, i know there are days when the puts fall and days when they dont, man kevin had 5 or 6 puts that just lipped out, if it was a day when they dropped he would of been close in the match, just wasnt getting the brakes, he should of easily been 2 under, i didnt expect much from him but he really played a damn good round and should be proud of himself, the other hot heads should learn a few lessons from him, he hits a few bad shots and still manages to smile, he is enjoying it, isnt that what golf is suposed to be enjoyable? good job kev!!!!!!!!!!
Well guys, it’s officially over. I’m not crazy about the final show or the outcome either. Mike did step up under the pressure and make a nice finish, but the guy is still an idiot. I can say that this was without a doubt the worst Big Break yet. The poor sportsmanship. The overall lousy caliber of players. Just a bad selection of players for a national show. I’m looking forward to the next BB with the ladies. They always seem to be much entertaining than the guys. Thanks for all the comments. We got a really good discussion going on this one. Stay tuned for the next BB and we’ll do it again.
And the award for the two biggest babies on Big Break Disney goes to……Mike Perez and Blake Moore. I would like to thank the both of you on consistently displaying how NOT to behave on a golf course. Your actions are truly inspiring. The next time I get frustrated, no matter playing golf or not, I will reflect on your actions. Oh, I must admit, that I would have really appreciated the reaction of Mike Perez, had he lost. Maybe he would have thrown his whole golf bag in a hissy tantrum fit. Big Break Disney champion he is NOT in my book. Instead, he is merely a cancer to the sport of golf.
What do you think the chances are that Mike and Blake have seen these postings? I would hope a friend has let them know about them and maybe, just maybe it would make thwem see just how of “bad sports” they are.
That would be great if they have seen the commentary here. Although I can’t imagine they don’t realize how immature and ridiculous they were after seeing the episodes for themselves. I would have been embarrassed.

Blake was an embarrement to how golf is played. Slamming clubs, bad attitude are not what you want to see. Blake should have been thrown off out of the competition. Mike Perez was also caught up in the clic as well.
